The Coosa River begins in Rome, Georgia and ends just northeast of the Alabama state capital, Montgomery. Around 90% of the Coosa River’s length is located in Alabama. The river is about 280 miles (450 km) long.

This is a beautifully styled one-person canoe that is 13′ 6″ long. It offers the traditional cane seat and hardwood yoke. The wood used to form the hull is primarily of Western Red Cedar. Like all our strip built canoes and kayaks we use a technique that allows us to build the canoe without the use of staples.

Cedar is used for its straight grain and its great strength to weight ratio. Other woods are also used where additional strength or design aesthetics are needed. We sometimes add additional design features and elements such as inlays, on-lays and engravings to achieve a special look.

The Coosa 135, like the Chestatee 115, is the perfect size for wall-mount displays in cabins and lake houses. We also build matching hanging brackets for wall-mount displays.
